About Saeed Hasan Khan

Mr. Saeed Hasan Khan has more than twenty five years of diversified experience in rendering various professional services to a wide range of clients. He has developed a keen professional interest in emerging laws about personal data protection and has gained an understanding of underlying concepts and principles governing the global data protection laws including the General Data Protection Regulation of the European Union. He carried out a great deal of research on personal data protection laws in various jurisdictions to have a comparison of core legal principles in various jurisdictions. He advises clients on privacy policies, compliance, cross-border transfer of personal data, and related advisory concerning personal data protection.

His tax-related work experience includes customs, sales tax, income tax, federal excise, and provincial laws on sales tax on services. This includes tax planning, return preparation, risk assessment, tax audits, transaction advisory & opinions, representation before the authorities, dispute settlement (alternate means and ombudsman) and tax litigation, advising on transfer pricing and country-by-country reporting, advising on cross-border transactions, advising on international tax treaties and carrying out tax due diligence. He assists and represents the clients during tax audits conducted by the tax authorities. He advises clients on duty and tax structure in relation to cross-border transactions. Regarding corporate law services, his experience includes advising on corporate structures, shareholder agreements, contractual stipulations between the companies, compliance, and representation before the authorities. Interpretation of statutes and legal drafting are his special areas of interest.

He has also carried out system audits of various funded projects and their evaluation as per the grant documents. He has studied the accounting & procurement processes of various entities, advised modifications therein, and developed finance and procurement manuals. He has also been engagement director in respect of special assignments concerning due diligence, third-party mandated financial and non-financial assignments, internal audit (both financial and system) investigation, and special purpose audit engagements.

He is an Advocate enrolled with the Bar at Islamabad, Pakistan, and a Member of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators (CIArb) United Kingdom. He holds a Master’s degree in Public Administration. He has also completed a certificate course on “Data: Law, Policy and Regulation” from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE). He is a Member of the International Association of Privacy Professionals (IAPP).
