On September 20, 2019, the National Tariff Commission (NTC) Government of Pakistanhas imposed provisional antidumping duty @ 13.94% on dumped imports of Cold Rolled Coils / Sheets / Strips into Pakistan Originating in and/or Exported from Canada & Russia w.e.f. September 20, 2019 for a period of four months.
These provisional measures are converted into definitive antidumping duty upon final determination. Of course, this provisionally determined antidumping duty is meant to provide level playing field to the applicant domestic industry (M/s International Steels Limited and M/s Aisha Steel Mills Limited), which is an interim relief during the investigation. These provisional measures are likely to be converted into definitive antidumping duties for a period of 5 years extendable for another period of 5 years after review.
The domestic industry filed application for levy of antidumping duties through S.U.Khan Associates Corporate & Legal Consultants with the NTC upon which NTC initiated and conducted investigated.
